FIELD/DISCIPLINE KNOWLEDGE APPLIED TO  TEACHING

By attending conferences, workshops and webinars (see Professional Activity) and subscribing to various math and education blogs/feeds, not only do I gain knowledge to keep abreast of the latest in technology and pedogogy as it applies to teaching mathematics, but I also develop a network of teachers doing what I do to share ideas and projects.  This helps me be aware of the latest research in teaching and best practices.  I then apply things learned to my teaching.

I subscribe to Campus Technology's Smart Classroom, ExploreLearning, USDLA (United States Distance Learning Association), AMATYC distance learning and assessments comittees, Wolfram Research and Wolfram Education Newsletter, Online Learning Consortium, Innovative Educators Newsletter, League of Innovations newsletter,  OER & Lumen Learning to name a few (no wonder I get so many e-mails!  :)

I utilize the knowledge learned while participating in the many things listed under professional activity and apply it to my teaching.
